2005 Waypoint “Hidden Ridge” Cabernet Sauvignon

Paul and I recently reviewed this very limited production Cabernet, Waypoint “Hidden Ridge” from Bounty Hunter Wine. You can view their web site and read more about their wines at http://www.bountyhunterwine.com.

Wine Details:

Vintage: 2005

Varietal: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Aging: 20 months in French oak, 75% new

Appelation: Sonoma, CA – Hidden Ridge vineyard atop Spring Mountain

Production: only 125 cases

Winemaker: Marco DiGiulio

Tasting: Dark balck cherry, cassis, cola, tar, violets, smoke, and spanish cedar box. Nice balance of fruit, tannin, and acidity with an intense concentrated smooth mouthfeel, and a generous finish. Drink now or until 2015.  Rating: 91 PC, 92 JH
