2004 Santi Amarone

Posted on February 27, 2009 by pcook

Carol and I had lunch at the newly opened Mia Bella in the Vintage Park center on Louetta in North Houston today. It was a very nice lunch experience. We sat outside and had a wonderful lunch as we talked about our new business.
We had a bottle of Santi which was enjoyable. The wine exhibited a nice nose of plum and spicy dark fruit that made us feel like we where sitting outside in Italy itself. The mouth feel was wonderfully full of nice fruit and the tannins were balanced. The finish was long and the wine went very well with the Veal and mushrooms dish that I had.
Carol and I both rated it a 90. For forty bucks retail this wine could become a staple in our wine from Italy selection.
If you are in the area and want to try a great restuarant, give Mia Bella a try. Ask for Mindy – she was great!
