1999 Williams Selyem “Rochioli Riverblock”

Posted on July 21, 2008 by jheck

Friday night, I was awakened by the sound of my wife screaming, because our house was backing up with raw sewage. What a “crappy” weekend I ended up having! I spent the whole weekend cleaning up from a few hundred gallons of sewage. I didn’t have time to drink wine this weekend, and my sniffer is probably off a little as well. :-) I decided to bring a review I did a while back on Corkd for you to read. Paul and I enjoyed this awesome Pinot Noir at his house one weekend about 5 weeks ago.

Wine Details

Winery: Williams Selyem

Vintage: 1999

Varietal: Pinot Noir

The color is a beautiful ruby red with a hint or brown around the edges. On the nose black pepper, green bell pepper, and crayon with dark ripe plum, black cherry, and hint of sage. You can taste this wine in your mouth several minutes after you sip it. The best Pinot I have ever had, hands down. This particular bottle was kept in climate control and was pristenely taken care of. It was not in the least over the edge.

Rating: 96 JH      Wine and Spirits rated this wine in 2002 and gave it a 95 rating
