Primetime Wine Tasting
Last Thursday we all met up at Primetime to taste a few wines, get to know the new owners a bit and hook up with the Boyers… here is what our experience was like. The tasting started out with a a Chardonnay that I quickly passed on (oak devil), we had a 2005 Franciscan Cabernet from Napa, a 2006 Ramspeck from Napa and a 2005 Cenay Blue Tooth Vineyard from Oak Knoll. All the wines where nice, the Cenay was the most unusual of the four. It had what Dianna was calling an “orange zest” on the finish. The Ramspeck is always decent as well. Overall a very nice tasting.
The food was not bad either. Pretty well, steaks around the table – the fillet was off the hook, some new meat distributor they are using now. The new chef/owner seems to care about the restaurant and the wine list now. I’m hopeful that this guy will be what Primetime needs to get things really going again. Luben, our waiter, was very helpful as always and very knowledgeable about the wine we tasted.
90 Rating on the fun tasting.
P.S. – Pablo, the new owner, took it really well even though we bashed him about how a restaurant should be run for at least twenty minutes…
